It's my birthday, send me the best Mr. Burns gifs.
I've been having this weird sensation below my sternum, on the left, a little under the rib. where it SEIZES. it doesnt hurt but its uncomfortable and concerning. it almost feels like a muscle cramping, except it feels internal. I dont know what to make of it. I went to the er and they didnt see anything.
Ah I'm starting to put it together.
Gastritis is causing my SIBO. When I have gastritis, I take antacids, and then the antacids give me SIBO.
So if I prevent the gastritis, I prevent the SIBO.
Every time I get these problems it's because I went overboard on something. Anything that gives me too much acid. Poor diet. Chocolate, fried foods, coffee. Alcohol. (and NSAIDS!!!)
Daily Monster Energy Drinks were the culprit the first time I had it.
Alcohol the second time.
I actually had a traumatic experience around the time I first experienced it. I was diagnosed with PTSD. Recently found out stress eats away at the mucosal lining of your stomach which then makes you more prone to getting gastritis.
Stress reduction is seriously important for digestive issues.
But anyway, I wanted to share this in case others can benefit from the knowledge. Maybe you're in a similar boat where gastritis symptoms are making you take antacids which then helps breed SIBO.
So the goal is to prevent the gastritis, first and foremost. A clean diet helps a lot. Like you can have treats every now and then but don't go overboard (like I have a tendency to want to do). Working on managing stress helps a lot.
Also, if you have gastritis AND SIBO, treat the gastritis first. Things that kill SIBO can make the gastritis worse and you do not want an ulcer.
(This is not the cause for everyone but I suspect it's common.)
I had apple cidar vinegar, clove tea, ginger tea all in one day. A few days ago. Bad idea? I have had INCESSANT diarrhea ever since. The diarrhea is ceaseless. I predict its a result of "die off". I've hardly been able to eat so that means they're hardly eating too. DIE DIE DIE!!! But also, good Lord, I would like to be able to take a sip of water without defecting in my pants. I'm also taking olive leaf extract.
One part of me wants to stop the diarrhea. The other believes this is cleansing my system of those BASTARDOUS BACTERIUM THAT DECIDED TO OVERTAKE MY INTESTINES
I've been struggling with malabsorption and some kind of deficiency that's been causing HEINOUS side effects, such as numbness and tingling and confusion and blurred vision. Truly delightful. But then I had this shake that's chalk FULL of vitamins and I felt better quickly. Whatever vitamin I am lacking, I suspect is in the drink.
I actually was suffering from a LACK of mobility a few days ago. But after the apple cidar vinegar and the clove and the ginger and the olive leaf extract, I'm moving faster than a freight train.
So I suppose my advice to you is this:
Bloated as Hell? Lack of movement? Do what I did. Apple cidar vinegar in water. Clove tea. Ginger tea. Olive Leaf extract.
Malabsorption? Deficiencies? Find a liquid drink that offers MANY VARIOUS VITAMINS. It will be easier for you to absorb the liquid than a food or pill. This has been the preferred method for me because blood work doesn't really tell you what you're actually deficient in, levels in the blood can be normal or even high but that doesn't mean your CELLS are absorbing them. It's very difficult to find out what you're truly deficient in so having a liquid drink that provides MANY VITAMINS seems to be helpful.
(Reddit removed my post for some reason. Trying again without links in description. I'll put links in comments.)

"After 2 months of Olive Leaf Tea intervention, 88% of SIBO patients showed negative hydrogen and methane breath tests."
You can buy leaves or Olive Leaf Extact (which is said to be more potent). Links in comments. Let leaves steep for at least 7 minutes.
Olive Leaf also reduces inflammation, even of the nervous system.
Warnings:
It may cause stomach upset in some people. Usually goes away after repeated use. (I personally don't experience stomach upset with it, even with a mild case of gastritis.)
It may lower blood pressure. Be careful if you have low blood pressure. Some people, though it is rare, may be allergic.
At long last... separation is NO LONGER!!! And together... oh, together... they shall wield power TOO GREAT TO IMAGINE!!!
My vagus has been dysregulated but it's not just racing/difficulty digesting/anxiety. I also get fatigue/feeling faint.
Everyone says stimulate the nerve to encourage "rest and digest".
But what about when my nerve is OVERstimulated? Which results in DROPS, of heart rate, blood pressure, etc. Its like too MUCH rest.
So stimulating the vagus wont help in this case. How do I calm it down?
