Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who went through something similar.
I’m currently going through a miscarriage) of 7 weeks. and it has been complicated by a 7.5 cm fibroid located on/near my cervix.
From what my doctors explained:
-The pregnancy has stopped (confirmed)
-I still haven’t fully expelled the pregnancy tissue
-The fibroid is physically blocking the expulsion
-I’ve been bleeding for about 1–1.5 weeks with ongoing pain
-My beta hCG levels are decreasing, which is expected with miscarriage
-But the fibroid is still there and quite large (7 cm)
What’s confusing to me:
-I gave birth 8 months ago via c section to twins and never knew I had a fibroid before, even by looking at old pelvic ultrasound images.
So I don’t understand if it grew quickly or was missed
The situation feels “stuck” because of the obstruction
My questions:
- Has anyone had a miscarriage where a fibroid blocked the natural expulsion?
- Did you end up needing medical treatment (medication) or surgical intervention ? Two doctors told me your uterus is so sensitive now to remove fibrosis and the pregnancy tissue because of recent contractions and c section.
- Did the fibroid cause ongoing pain or complications for you and bleeding?
I know medical advice in this situation is best, but I’m feeling a bit lost and worried, so any similar experiences or advice would really help 🙏
