Our furnace finally took its last breath over the weekend, the company we deal with came out and quoted a new unit. we said we were going to wait until fall because we don't need heat right now and can save money towards it. today the salesman called my husband and said he was looking through notes and a couple of years ago they had came out for something else, while we had a house sitter and we were away without cell service and he said their employee had made a note that our furnace had a hole in the heat exchange and to circle back with us the following week when we got home (this was summer so furnace was not on) and they never got back with us. the salesman says he's working with his manager on a discount because we could have really gotten sick or died since then. what kind of discount should i be expecting? or is this some sort of high pressure sales pitch?
