Has anyone switched from replacing retainers as needed → doing a retainer subscription instead?

I finished my aligner treatment a while ago (used NewSmile) and I already replaced my retainers once. It got me thinking whether it actually makes more sense to just do one of those retainer subscription plans instead of waiting until they get gross/crack and then reordering.

How long do you guys usually wear retainers before changing them?

Also random question: for people who clench/grind at night, do you wear your retainers AND a night guard somehow or do you just pick one?

Curious what everyone’s routine is because I’m trying to avoid undoing treatment after finally finishing 😅
