Recent Colonoscopy/Endoscopy for diagnosis- feeling confused

I (27F) had a colonoscopy and endoscopy today to confirmed suspected diagnosis of IBD due to family history and onset of symptoms (stomach cramps, blood and mucous in stools, using the bathroom 5-10 times a day, body aches, fatigue, and joint pain). After the procedure was finished, the doctor gave me my preliminary results. It definitely looks like I have IBD, but that I seem to have both ulcerative colitis and crohns. The doctor was very adamant that the inflammation and lesions were separate and distinct, pointing towards a diagnosis of both. I know exact diagnoses won’t be determined until everything that was biopsied has been tested. I was wondering what other people’s experiences have been like. I am feeling mildly confused, as some research says you can’t have both at the same time. I would love to hear your stories!
