How is Reiwa era Japan’s view on cinema different from Heisei Era?
I am super into researching aspects of Japanese media especially manga and anime as well as how the system of media plays out in Japan as a (American) otaku. I was at some point interested in Japanese ppl’s reaction to manga and anime that we rarely see from primary standpoint. In America we have platforms like mangaplus and kodansha online which are based on digital platforms jump plus and magazine pocket where we can read and discover newer manga, with mangaplus getting translations as the series come out. Anyways, I decided to search in comment section of older boys manga from kodansha’s magazine pocket app and noticed a lot of the series seem to have more negative impressions now due to it being a product of it’s time.
Main things being in portrayal of women, excessive fan service, anti-social behaviors, and delinquency. How much has the cultural view of anime and manga changed these past 6 years, what are considered taboos now that weren’t the decades before, and finally what is the current status on digital manga and webcomics in Japan?
