I wish I made she

She is genuinely the best fucking song oat. I love the jazz chords and the prolonged synth pads and his infamous gangster lead and the obscure and strange but fitting drums. The composition is so insane but it’s overlooked cause of how simple it is. U can tell it’s one of those beats unique to one person and that’s why I love it. No one else would make that beat but Tyler. The verses are good and catchy and Frank always does his thing ofc. I love this song a lot and I hope to make something of this caliber one day!!

Redbone synth

Anyone know how to recreate that synth from redbone near the end. On the genius breakdown Ludwig said it’s from oddity gforce but I don’t have it. It has sort of like a wah effect on it and he uses it on me and your mama aswell

Learning piano by ear

So I’ve been learning piano for about 5 months now and I’ve been trying to learn it in a way where I can compose my own music. I know all the minor 7ths major 7ths etc. but now I feel like I’ll learn chords from a song and how they fit together and try to emulate it but the next day I’ll forget what sounds good after this chord or that chord for example. There are so many inversions and it feels like I don’t when it’s necessary to use them. Usually when I’m adding chords in my daw I’ll just press around until something finally sounds good. Is that what I should be doing or is there something I’m missing

Mixing

I know like the basics of mixing like eqing adding chorus and reverb and panning drums and stuff but it never sounds clean or loud enough like other peoples songs or industry songs and I wanted to know the steps to learning how to mix better cause I feel like I hit a wall.
