How much fitness will I lose?
I'm a 50yo female
So since January I've been keeping up a reasonably intense fitness regime, lifting 4 times a week, 5 HIIT classes and rowing or running 5ks 5 days a week as well as averaging 10k steps. I've gained muscle, dropped my rhr to 43, sleep has been amazing, hrv high 60s. I lost 53 kg and have maintained it for almost 2 years, adding this level of training in the last few months to improve body comp
However last two weeks my eldest has been really sick and needed me with her and her daughter almost constantly. I also have little kids at home so I've been run off my feet. I've managed one lifting session and one run. My rhr is now 47, hrv high 50s.
How bad is it? How long before I lose all the gains? I know there's not much I can do about it, my kids come first, but I need to work out how much I need to push myself to still workout exhausted, if that makes sense?
I realise after writing this I sound kind of unhinged. I've just worked so damn hard after being a fat couch potato for 45 years!
