i want arch linux freedom but macbook hardware spoiled me

i have been using macbooks since the m1 air and currently use an m4 air sky blue and honestly i genuinely love the hardware and build quality

over the years i got much deeper into linux ricing and customization and macos just started feeling limiting

i tried way too many tools to replicate linux workflows and even wrote my own tools in swift but macos documentation and apis are honestly hell compared to linux and there is just way less freedom in general

current setup is flashspace + sketchybar + raycast + karabiner

i also tried yabai aerospace omniwm and a bunch of other stuff

i really love the philosophy of niri and omniwm looked promising but there are annoying lagging/glitching issues (generally same for all: yabai, aerospace, etc..) during transitions and honestly none of these tools feel smoooooth enough for me

that tiny stutter/glitch between transitions drives me insane

at the same time i still think there is nothing remotely close to apple silicon efficiency and macbook build quality

the display keyboard speakers touchpad battery chassis everything just feels too good compared to most laptops

framework 13 pro looks almost perfect philosophically but i cannot buy it right now

so now i genuinely do not know what to do

should i wait for framework 13 pro

or just sell the mac and get something else like:

* dell xps 14/16

* asus zephyrus g14/g16

* thinkpad x1 carbon

or maybe there actually is some setup on macos that i am missing which gets closer to that smooth linux wm feeling

would really appreciate opinions especially from people who switched from macbooks to linux laptops and did not regret it
