Hi there folks of r/newzealand_travel!
I am planning a trip to New Zealand late September, early October to hopefully propose to my longtime partner. We will hopefully be there for just over a week.
My partner and I have never been to NZ before (we're both from across the pond), but have always wanted to go. I am very much an outdoorsy adventurous type, whilst my partner is not so much this way inclined.
We both love nature and the beauty nature holds, however my partner is not very much into the rigorous labor one can often have to endure to see said nature (long difficult hikes).
I was wondering if you kind people had any suggestions of relatively easy hikes / must see spots / north v south island tips for someone who has never been to NZ and even best possible locations to propose!
