No A-rank in Digimon collab

At this point in this season, nothing shocks me anymore.

In previous collabs, (Fairy Tale, Delicious in Dungeon, Frieren), we got 1 S-rank hero and 1 A-rank hero. A-rank heroes, in general, are both easier and cost less diamonds to get. (This is wrong; I made a calculation error. Sorry) Not having an A-rank in this collab (which was already controversial to begin with) is just the latest slap in the face to the player base.

To explain further to the newer players, if you fail to get both Yamato and Taichi to Supreme+ before the event ends, both the Digimon Dimensional Invites and any unused copies of the characters will turn into Dimensional Soulstones (2nd picture). You need THREE Soulstones (12k diamonds) to equal one copy. In previous collabs, players would get the S-rank hero to Supreme+ during the event, and leave the A-rank at Mythic+ - usually because the A-rank hero wasn't that good, and it was cheaper to get A-rank Soulstones.

Let's talk about this scene with Cyran again for a moment.

The general consensus seems to be that after we grab his arm in an attempt to...save him? capture him?...a brief moment ensues where he's apparently considering to accept our help, then his pride takes over and he refuses. This is emphasized by both his next comment and the game's description of the cutscene itself.

But...what if...?

What if, in this brief instant, his thought was NOT "I want to accept your attempt to pull me out", but rather, "Merlin has just given me the opportunity to pull them in." This, I feel, is supported by Cyran's comment "Do you think this is over? When he devours you, I'll be the first to welcome you!". Which is strange to me, as that would have been what happened, at that moment, had Cyran not knocked our hand away. If so, this scene changes from us failing to save him, to him SAVING US, and giving us a chance to rescue him at another time in the future. I also wonder if he has a plan on what he's going to do while on the other side and whether or not it's to help us

It also occurs to me that regardless of his thought process during this scene, whatever or whoever he's going to encounter on the other the other side of that portal will most likely call him out on this. He had the rare chance to take us down, and didn't.

Well, since we're posting our high scores in Crafter's Venture...

The Gate of Avalon and a Manor Well dropped before the 6th round, which cause my score to immediately jump from below 1k to *900k*. The game then continued to offer me upgrade cards, which pushed me even higher. I will never see this again, lol.

They really leaned into the whole "biblical angel" theme for this set, didn't they?

Not complaining - It definitely looks cool!

For those not in the know - Judeo-Christian mythology (although other religions may have similar celestial beings, they're usually attributed to the former) has "Seraphim", who are beings with six wings. Seraphim have been described as having eyes on their wings (Notably in biblical book of The Relevations of John), but it's also possible the set creator brought in the main element from the "Ophanim", which are described as "wheels covered in eyes".

Event idea - Hamster racing!

In the Guild Duel thread, Automatic_End2588 made a comment that inspired me. (Credit where credit is due - even if they don't want it)

Remember that carnival game with the "race horses" where you have to spray water at a target to get them to move? I had a similar idea.

  1. Each player gets a giant, rideable hamster. Customizable. Fur colour, pattern(s), eye colour, saddle. To help Lilith make money, give players an option to pay $5 US to buy 100 costume credits to really pimp out their ride. Create a back story for your hamster by completing a multiple choice questionnaire (Rescued from evil hamster fighting ring/bought from high-end breeder/fell on us out of the sky - loves radishes/butt scratches/poetry recitals - hates thunder/cats/mages named Cyran) We can either ride the hamsters ourselves, or choose a hero to be our jockey instead (I wanna see chibi heroes riding hamsters. Who's with me?)

  2. Two buffable stats - Speed and Stamina. Hamsters have a base speed, and a speed boost. You choose increasing base speed, increasing boost speed, or increasing boost duration.

  3. Buffs are built by either a) collecting food pellets while doing your daily tasks (NOT rank-based) or b) popularity. This method allows for players who aren't able to buy cosmetics or can't complete all tasks (b/c Real Life), but still have a chance of winning a race. People love betting on a dark horse, amirite?

  4. Races can either be 3, 5, 10 players, or all three! 3-players races have a higher chance of winnability, but lower rewards.

  5. OF COURSE, players get a set amount of tokens to bet with. They are also allowed to click on hamsters participating in a particular race to see their stats and read their back story. Their bet (and amount) can help a hamster succeed!

  6. During the race, players get a Boost button to Use Responsibly.

  7. Similar to Wand Wars, racers and betters get store tokens for winning. Ranking winners get adorable hamster pets that follow them around.

  8. At the end of the event, our hard-working hamsters are retired to Homestead to harrass the heroes.

Thoughts?

Maybe....just maybe, we could meet Cyran's family in an epilogue quest?

Based on his Affinity tale, and doing a little bit of deductive reasoning, we can assume his mother, sister-in-law, possible niece-in-law and grand-nephew/niece(s) also exist. I think it would be interesting to see if Cyran had a close relationship with any of them, and what their thoughts/feelings on his fall would be. And if we can get any insight on his and Merlin's past from them. (Assuming they'd even be happy to see us...)

No announcement for Daddy's new skin, so I'll post his pic for us to drool over instead

Although I'm not sure about the whole diamond-shaped monocle obsession. Those can't be comfortable.

Next season storyline predictions!

I keep checking the subreddit hoping for news on the next season, which should be dropping ANY DAY NOW (hint hint devs, lol), but to tide me over until that happens, I just wanna ask, what do you all think will happen in the next season, story-wise?

Here's what the official site has to say:

You'll be invited to a royal celebration in Savannah, the capital of the Lightbearer Empire. Everything looks perfect on the surface, but beneath it, something sinister is brewing. It's up to you to uncover what's really going on...

My theory:

The celebration is Princess Peggy's birthday. Maybe even the official announcement of her engagement to Rowan?

Something about officially welcoming Cassidee to the Royal Court Mage Club. Maybe we'll get to meet some more hot-looking knights, like Valen, Hogan, and Battle-Gown-Whats-Her-Face. (More heroes! yay!)

Meanwhile, the noose is tightening around Cyran's neck. Someone mentioned Captain Rodrigo from CoE might be showing up, and I think a lot of people will be asking, "What exactly happened in Whiteridge?" There could be enough evidence gathered to actually put him on trial. Which then might lead to him show his TRUE EVIL COLOURS! PINK AND GREEN! MUAHAHAHA!

The next season's title (ESPECIALLY the Japanese translation, apparently) strongly suggests things are about to go VERY BADLY. Either Cyran goes full one-winged angel on everyone, and/or helps the Hypogeans invade, and/or helps the Bantus kingdom invade and gives everyone the slip YET AGAIN.

Or maybe he doesn't. Maybe he's GOOD ALL ALONG, and dramatically gives his life while trying to save the kingdom, and gives our Merlin a tender goodbye (or tells us he hates us and that he hopes Zorya fails our stupid, stupid hamsters)

...

Anyways, what are all your predictions?

(it's also occurred to me that Shadewing might finally show up in the story and assassinate the King. At Peggy's party. Which will really suck.)
