As stated, I just got an in game notification that they will be shutting down SimCity in Vietnam from June 6th. I noticed earlier today that I couldn’t update the game or see it on the App Store. Apparently it’s because the government has some new decree and isn’t happy with any App that shows ads longer than 5 seconds.

Pretty sad because my wife and I play together and we’ve enjoyed hundreds of hours designing our cities, joining wars and upgrading cards, participating in design challenges etc. for it all just to be taken away.

I’m going to try a VPN to see if that allows me to continue. If anyone else in Vietnam has a plan to keep playing please let me know what it is.
