Hey everyone!

I'm 22M currently in 8th(final) semester of my B-tech(CSE). I have joined a small company 2 months ago. The pay is around 28-30k per month. The work environment is great, the policies are quite chill we can dress casually & come office anytime between 9AM to 12 PM except that we have to clock total 9 hours including 1 hour of break. There is not much workload, I usually work for maybe 5-6 hours at max in the office that too at comfortable pace.

Now the thing is that the work is non-tech in nature basically not much scope of growth in future. Also they have a bond of 1.5 years valued 1.5 Lakhs. I haven't yet signed the bond since I have taken leave citing preparation for my semester examinations, but I will have to sign the bond once my college gets over and I rejoin.

I have one more offer from a mass recruiter tech Company, which will give joining letter in early 2027.

Now I consider myself fairly decent in academics. Although I have never achieved anything extraordinary but I have scored about 90% in both class10th & 12th by preparing only a week before examinations. Never made notes nor paid attention in classes. In Graduation the grades dipped a bit because of casual attitude, below average attendance & not completing assignment's etc.

I gave CAT This year. A friend of mine was preparing for it so I also filled the form along with him & forgot about it. My friend reminded me about exam a day before. I showed up at exam center hungover. I have never before seen CAT question paper, I just knew there were three sections- english, maths & logical reasoning. I somehow attempted the paper & when results came I had scored 92.80 percentile(english did most of the heavy lifting).

Basically I have never done hard-work nor been serious about anything.

from past few weeks I am thinking about resigning from my current job & prepare for banking exams while attempting CAT as well with some preparation this time. I have seen bank papers I think I can clear them if I prepare well for 6 months.

my english is good since I was young(out of total 56 marks in CAT, 36.5 were in english & have scored 99.5 percentile in CUET-UG english ).

so now this is what I want people's opinion about:-

  1. I'm confused whether I am being delusional or are banking exams doable in 6-7 months?
  2. shall I continue preparation with my job or I should leave it and go all in(even If I am unable to clear any exam I still have a fallback mass recruiter job).

I'm really sorry if this is long but it was necessary to tell whole picture .

what would have you done if you were in my shoes.

any other suggestion will also help
