Curious where everyone else actually gets stuck in the process. Not looking for the textbook answer, just what's true for you.

Is it finishing the song in the first place, getting the mix to sit right, or the last stretch of loudness and polish before it's ready to release? For me, it changes depending on the track, but there's usually one stage that eats way more time than the others.

If you've found something that actually helped you get unstuck at whichever stage it is, I'd like to hear it. Trying to figure out if this is a "just keep grinding" problem or if there's something specific people are missing.

This matters even more in bass music, where the whole point is usually the gap between breakdown and drop. Compress that away and you're just removing the raw material mastering needs.
