There is a bug that needs urgent resolution.

In BOM

Click on Group By (enabling the grouping) check box of $QUANTITY.

we get a message that "Quantity Column cannot be grouped by"

Then I press OK,

The Tick mark still remains.

I now click on TICK MARK to remove it, I get the same above message...
It does not update the field or perhaps the rendering.
When I close and reopen the tick mark is gone.

This bug needs to be fixed asap.

Its for long time I have used KiCad. Each time I learn something new.
I will share few as I go along.

After I create the Schematic AND BEFORE i IMPORT TO PCB ...

I create a BOM.

That BOM must have 2 fields ..

1. Manufacturer
2. Manufacturer_Part_Number

I ensure that this field is completely filled for all parts.

Now I open 3 tabs

1. Mouser
2. DigiKey
3. Arrow

I paste the manufacturer part number in each of them and do the part search. Religiously I press the data sheet. This will let me know if the part is active, NRND, End of Life etc, New etc...Further I will also the availability status. Many a times we create a pcb to find out that one part is rather rare or has long lead times... that is a red flag for me. I try to find the substitute.

Once all my parts are "sourced" on the above 3 sites, I will "import" schematic to PCB and start my layout and routing.

I know its bit convoluted process, but it has helped me avoid post fabrication and production pit falls. It also validates my footprint to Part Number compatibility.

I now exploring update of BOM CSV directly to the above sites without any intermediate data cleaning. It will take some time to figure out that.

(I request others to share their "experience" so that I too can learn from them)?

Board Overall Dimensions is zero.

Yellow markers are DRC Errors

When I enable TearDrops and re-pour the zone (Ctrl-B, B).

And Run DRC... I get bunch of DRC Errors (minimum distance DRC error).

Now when I remove the TearDrop and re-pour the zone, DRC .. the errors disappear.

The bug is -> When the zone is re-poured, it must respect the spacing set in capabilities (which was set by me as per PCB manufacturer recco). This spacing rule is respected without teardrops, but when I enable teardrops, i get bunch of DRC errors (76... without teardrops zero).

This in my opinion is a bug.

Both 3V and 1V2 have identical zone area (both B.CU and F.Cu side)

When Filled 3v3 is perfect but 1v2 is truncated by GND zone fill on F.Cu side.

On B.CU side both 3v3 and 1v2 are perfectly zone filled.

Why on B.CU side only 1v2 zone fill is truncated by GND zone?

Isnt it a bug?

The Yellow arrow is DRC Violation.

Zone Only view

The diamond shape zone fill and the rectangular shaped zone fill is shorting the 1.2 V lines.

However much I try to select that space and delete the zone, I am unable to do it. Unless this issue is resolved I cannot manufacture my pcb.

This shorting behavior is consistent across the board.

Zone Settings.

In Zone Setting (before creation of the zone) I have put exact manufacturer capabilities for zone to track and pad distance. Further, I have even selected delete all islands.

I think its a bug in KiCad10.

I am unable to resolve this issue.

Kindly let me know how to remove these shorting zone fills.
