When reaching out to investors, is it better to send highly personalized messages to a small group or to contact a large number of investors with a general pitch? On one hand, personalization takes more time but might increase response rates. On the other hand, mass outreach can cover more ground but might feel less genuine. I’m wondering what actually works better in practice. Do investors respond more to messages that clearly show research and understanding of their interests, or is it more about timing and luck? And how do founders decide where to invest their effort?
