I bought one of those 18-20 pound boxes of peaches and spent the day canning and finished with this delicious treat. Love it!
I made the Ball Peach Preserves with Powdered Pectin from the 2012 edition of the book. I always try to follow the instructions absolutely including increasing bath time for altitude. The preserves came out of the bath… cloudy? Full of tiny bubbles? I have read conflicting info on if these are fine to keep and wanted to ask for info/what may have happened other than maybe not scraping the foam off properly. Thanks! And if it needs to be reprocessed, how?
I went with England. They’re not lookers but were tasty and a good way to use some venison backstrap we found had become a bit freezer burnt. The mushrooms were the stars though!
I realized my AC was broken during the first rise on a day already sitting around 100F. Possible aesthetics right out the window. Stuck around to bake them off sans streusel and then got out to get AC parts. Absolutely fastest enriched dough rise time I’ve ever experienced though.
It’s a simple bread but what I love is that you make it once, then make three loaves or so over the course of a week from the container in your fridge. This lets me have well developed flavor and fresh bread for three different meals without committing to sourdough.
