I have been having problems with my wifi for a while now. For some reason, my ping will randomly spike up to 200-300 for no reason whatsoever. It will do this every 5 minutes when gaming and sometimes even more than that. This causes my game to freeze and is very annoying. Here are some things I have done to mitigate the issue. (Dallas is not where I live btw so don’t worry)
Replace the Ethernet cable used on my PC
Tested the wifi on 4 different devices, all yielding these results
Completely replace the router with a new one, same issue
Checked my wifi speed, I have an upload speed of 900 mbs and a download speed of 900 mbs
Tested my connection without Ethernet, still having the same spikes
Isolated all devices, still having the same ping spikes
Called my ISP, they were no help basically
Tried to prioritize gaming with the wifi, however my router doesn’t support that yet
I have done so much to try to stop this, however I’m starting to run out of options. Any tips you guys might have to fix this? There are only two people in my household, so I don’t think bandwidth is the issue especially since this has been occurring just recently. My wifi speed is extremely fast so I’m not sure how these ping spikes are possible. Let me know if you guys have any questions and I deeply appreciate any help
