Chile Road Trip 2027 Advice
Hi! Next year a few friends of mine are planning to come to Chile and do a road trip together. We have about 3 weeks to kill starting from early/mid July to the beginning of August. For context, I am living in Santiago but not a native. I know enough Spanish to get by but since my friends do not I was thinking about doing a more touristy type of trip.
We will be travelling using a camper van but since we'll be broke 18y/os we need to budget quite strictly! Are there any places that we should visit/avoid? Are there any places unsafe for women? Any recommendations in terms of camping sites/stops? Recommended routes? Food, even? I've been told the food in Patagonia is great, just wondering if we will have enough money to even try a large range. Where's a good place to rent a camper van from Santiago (that you can rent from 18)? If one person travelling is still 17 what relevant paperwork would they need?
