isanliyab statement & comelec ruling

let me preface this by saying, i don’t mean to be part of the political divisiveness that these political parties have caused, i am just a mere student who feels very strongly for the student body.

i just want to ask certain questions particulary to isanliyab servant leaders union.

last may 9, you released a statement to honor the abstain votes and 20% voter treshold, you made the student body feel heard and i actually applaud you for doing your job as political parties — i think if theres something islu could do and the other two couldn’t is that your ability to rally with the students with your protests and statements, sa inyo na yan. yan yung brand of leadership nyo eh.

but with the release of feu comelec’s decision to deny the petition of the 15 accredited orgs, you filed an anser with opposition and counter-petition.

so ano ba talaga?

how do you reconcile your public call to "honor the abstain" on social media with your actual legal argument to the tribunal that abstention is "neither a competing candidate nor a determinative electoral standard for proclamation or disqualification"?

hindi ko lang maintindihan at sana ipaintindi niyo sakin, saming mga estudyante kasi, the math isn’t mathing.

ito be yung democratic, patriotic and whatever values you all so proudly carry?

edtech email

hello, alam niyo po ba if may email ang edtech? i am a returning student po kasi and i forgot my outlook mail password and can’t access my central. thank you sa sasagot!

declare the elections as failed and disqualify isanliyab and kadiwa perpetually

we are all tired. tired of everything. tired of the drama, tired of the confusion, and tired of being the fuel for a broken system.

you are consistently failing us, office of the student involvement (osi) and student development (sdev). you cannot tell us that "abstain" is a conscious political choice and then throw those votes away when it’s time to compute the 20% turnout. as many have pointed out, your framework fragments the voter. you’re treating us like ghosts in our own election just to fit a certain narrative.

the cycle needs to end now and you should do the right thing for once!

- declare this whole election process as failed. you cannot claim legitimacy when the computation itself is legally and mathematically inconsistent with the omnibus election code.

- perpetual disqualification for isanliyab and kadiwa. this tug-of-war between these two parties has become a toxic cycle that only serves to burn out student leaders and confuse the student body. the fire of this rivalry has already set the student leaders on fire, and the students are the ones left in the smoke.

we honestly care about this university. we feel for the students because they really do deserve better. but they will never get better as long as we are forced to choose between the same two parties AND under a system that doesn't even know how to count a single ballot properly.

OSI, stop trying to patch up a sinking ship. stop forcing student leaders to kill themselves for a process that is rigged to fail from the start. it’s time to stop watching everything burn and finally put the fire out.

Sa ganitong uri ng patimpalak, may Office of the Student Involvement na tatatak.

The kind of leadership that you nurture, OSI, is the one that corrupts.

When you rebranded from SDEV I gave you the benefit of the doubt. New name, new focus, student-centered — okay. I believed that. A lot of us believed that.

Pero ano na?

Students raised voter turnout from 14.5% to 35% in a matter of hours today. They showed up. They believed one more time. And they sat through a proclamation that opened by explaining why their abstain votes don’t matter.

You are the office that controls the election infrastructure. The e-vote system. The accreditation timeline. The calendar that compresses everything into crunch time so that COMELEC forms late, parties campaign in weeks, and students are handed candidates they barely know and asked to trust them.

You set these conditions. You built this cage. And when it produces a 14.5% turnout at 9:53AM you get to watch everyone else take the blame — the parties, the candidates, the students, COMELEC — while you sit completely unaddressed.

The most infuriating part? Wala kaming matakbuhan. Aren’t you the office we are supposed to run to when things go wrong. And yet you are also the problem.

Students are not apathetic. They are unconvinced. And they have every right to be unconvinced when the office that vowed to serve them keeps failing them.

This election may have produced a turnout that surpassed the recent ones, but how come this doesn’t even reflect what we want?

Do better. Or get out of the way so something honest can be built in your place.
