Considering Double Majoring

Hi, I was curious if anyone here has double majored in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, or knows someone who has. I’m currently a CS major but I’ve already decided to switch into CE because I realized I’m a lot more interested in the hardware/systems side of things and I want something more hands-on than pure software development.

I know leaving CS is a big decision since it’s impacted and difficult to get back into, but after taking more technical courses and exploring my interests, CE feels like a much better fit for what I actually enjoy. I’ve also recently started looking into EE as well because a lot of the topics seem really interesting to me, especially electronics and system design.

From what I can tell, there seems to be a decent amount of overlap between CE and EE coursework, so I was wondering what a realistic double major plan would look like. I also heard that CE majors can automatically receive a CS minor because of the overlapping coursework, is that actually true?

If anyone has experience with CE/EE, double majoring, workload advice, or planning out the classes, I’d really appreciate hearing about it.
