Letter of Recommendation backed out
I’m seeking advice from anyone given my current situation so any comments are welcome please!
I am a non traditional applicant and have been out of undergrad for about 4 years. I had all my letters of recommendation confirmed by professors/dentist/etc. My second biology professor backed out of writing my letter last minute at the end of April. I tried to change her mind but she has extenuating circumstances and confirmed she absolutely can no longer write a letter.
I have spent the last month reaching out to every professor explaining my situation but have only received responses declining or no response at all. Being out of school for this long is making it even harder to get a letter. I know you can apply to some schools with only one core science letter but the options are extremely limited compared to having two science letters and my GPA is not extremely above average or anything. I had to work two jobs in undergrad so the time I spent going to office hours was for classes that I was struggling in. I was also in undergrad for the entirety of covid so I feel that my relationships with professors aren’t a strong point either.
What should I do at this point? I feel like the professor backing out this late in the process has ruined my chances of applying this cycle.
