Secret Celebrity Drag Race Season 2
Hi -- fair warning I'm a fairly recent convert, having only started in S15, and have only kept up with US seasons and All-Star seasons since then, and (perhaps crucially, for my knowledge) am a straight man, but... I randomly caught "RPDR Secret Celeb Season 2" on Pluto TV and became really enamored of it. A lot of the lip-syncs are impressive in their staging (though it's insulting that Ru has to bite the format of Lip Sync Battle, which clearly ripped Ru off first), and even though the season's Snatch Game was pretty simplified and kids gloves, I was still impressed that they did one.
All of that said, I'm just curious... what were people's reactions to this Season/Spin-off at the time (i.e., the one straight guy winning), and do we know why it didn't get a Season 3? It's so much more fun than Masked Singer, and based on an established, Emmy-winning brand, and I just can't see why there wasn't a loooooong line of celebs from all walks of life who desperately wanted to do this
