Hey guys, I’m planning a trip to Komodo in June (max 1 week total) and trying to decide between a liveaboard, staying in Labuan Bajo, or doing a mix of both.

I’ll be focusing on snorkelling only (no scuba experience), so I’d love recommendations based on that. My budget is mid-range to premium, and I’d prefer something comfortable (private room rather than shared).

I’m travelling solo and would like a mix of social + quiet time. I’m leaning towards a more relaxed experience with a bit of adventure, rather than a super packed itinerary.

My main priority is coral reefs (manta rays would be amazing too). I’m an experienced snorkeller and a strong swimmer, and comfortable in open water.

With that in mind, would you recommend a 2–3 night liveaboard, or staying in Labuan Bajo and doing day trips?

Would love to hear your experiences, especially if you’ve done Komodo primarily for snorkelling rather than diving.
