Could the Man Marked by Flames be Saul? He does have scars (which people could mistake as burn scars) from Ohara. He could have rebuilt a brunt ship which describes the black ship? Plus, if we are going straight to Laugh Tale for the next arc Luffy needs to get the ponoglyph in Elbaf. It would make sense for it to be kept safe in Shanks territory guarded by giants and a former Roger Pirate.

I don't know. I feel like this character needs to be someone we know, and not some ass pull character we've never meet. Saul feels like a good choice and it would make sense why they gave him scars when he was frozen.

Its not perfect but, I don't see a better choice.
