Letter outstanding pension dues 2017-18

Hoping for some advice and I'll start with a bit of added context. I apologize for the length of this thing lol.

In 2023, I received an overpayment letter for 2017-2018 for over 15000$.

Although I was under the impression I was overpaid, the amounts seemed excessively high and I tried to get clarification if the amounts were pre or post income tax and how I should address those changes. I never got very good answers and agreed to the repayment although I never fully understood the calculations.

Trying not to give excuses but I was dealing with personal stressors at the time and definitely felt shame for owing money and wanted the issue to be resolved.

I definitely did not give enough attention to the matter at the time and I would like to revisit the calculations now that I better understand Phoenix and have time to look it over. Not certain how much that will matter but I'd at least like to know if I overpaid.

We work shifts including nights and weekends and my pay was altered many many times throughout the years (retro and experience level mistakes). Hundreds of entries and as most of you know it can get very confusing with Phoenix.

Now for today's issue and my reason for posting. This week I received a letter for outstanding Pension dues for 2017-18. Over 5000$.

They also include in the letter that this amount is governed by the Public Service Superannuation Act and would not be subject to the six year statutory limit and would begin deductions immediately. Is that absolutely true or do I have any recourse?

Very frustrating that this was not addressed in 2023 and I'm wondering if I would be eligible for some kind of grievance given the circumstances.

At the very least I'd like to know if they are calculating based on the adjusted salary after the repayments. I will be emailing back for clarification.

Thanks for reading and any replies.
