Hey all, I could use some advice.

I graduated in late 2024 and had a tough time landing a job. I finally got one in October 2025, but it turned out to be very different from what was described (mostly sales), so I left in early December 2025.

Around that same time I applied to another role, and my CV still listed that job as ongoing. The hiring process took a few months, and now in April they’ve come back with a conditional offer.

The condition is that I sign consent for a third-party background check to verify my work history. In my country, they can access official employment records, so they’ll see I left that job in December.

So now I’m a bit stuck:

- Should I send an updated CV before the check?

- Or wait and only explain if they ask?

- Is this the kind of discrepancy that can cost me the offer?

I’m worried it might look worse than it actually is.

Appreciate any advice.
