A – Answer: What problem does your app solve?

I built Split Screen Player because I wanted a simple way to watch, compare, and review multiple videos at the same time on iPhone and iPad.

The app lets you select multiple videos and images from Photos or Files and play them together on one screen. It supports up to 36 videos at once, so it can be useful for comparing footage, reviewing sports clips, checking different camera angles, watching multiple streams/clips, or creating a custom multi-video viewing setup.

B – Better: Why is it better or different from top-named alternatives?

Most popular iOS video players are designed around watching one video at a time. Split Screen Player is focused specifically on multi-video playback and layout control.

What makes it different:

  • Play up to 36 videos or images-set on the same screen
  • Supports both portrait and landscape modes
  • Includes 125 built-in default layouts
  • Allows custom layouts
  • Save your selected videos and layout as bookmarks for next time
  • Control playback status and progress for all videos together
  • Frame-by-frame preview support
  • Automatic skip-to-highlight feature for easier video review
  • Supports importing/downloading videos through supported share links
  • Fully optimized for iPad for a larger multi-video experience

Compared with general video players like VLC, Infuse, or nPlayer, this app is not trying to be a full media library manager. Its main purpose is simultaneous playback, comparison, and flexible split-screen layouts.

I’m the developer of the app, and I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who tries it. I’m actively improving the app and have already implemented several user-suggested features.
