Syncing issues with guests
I’ve been using Tripsy for several years now (as part of a Setapp subscription) and have always been very satisfied with the app. It makes my travel planning so much easier, and I wouldn’t want to be without it.
However, there’s one thing that’s been causing problems from time to time and has actually gotten worse rather than better lately: the reliability of syncing with other travel companions.
I currently have several different trips, each with different guests added. For all of these trips, I’ve already added about 30 locations each (via the MCP interface). However, none of the guests can see these places. They can see that there must be places, because some of them are listed under “Newly Added,” but in the selection bar at the top (where “Places” is normally selectable next to “New Activity”) the “Places” button is missing, as if the trip was still empty. Really weird behavior. I have no clue how to ensure syncing with guests works reliably. All toggles in the guest options are already activated.
The strange thing is: Synchronization between my own devices (iOS, iPadOS, Mac) works flawlessly. I only have constant problems with guests.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Do you have any tips on how to improve reliability?
EDIT: Thanks to the awesome support of Tripsy (reply in less than 8 hours on a weekend! wow!) I could find a workaround for my issue: all entries were created with the MCP interface. As soon as I added one item manually, everything showed up for the guests. I guess they will fix the bug in the future, but until then if anyone has similar issues, I hope this information helps.
