Here's a question for anyone who putters with old sailboats. I just got a Cal 20 in scruffy but overall good shape. I bought an electric outboard motor for it along with some heavy lithium batteries that will go under the seats. I'm going to strengthen a bulkhead to secure the batteries, and I wonder if I should extend the bulkhead upward and join it to the underside of my cockpit. Good idea or no?
