If you're full or satisfied... STOP EATING!

I had dinner and that only put me slightly above 1200 cals so I thought I'd let myself have a treat. I got a sampler of 3 cheesecake slices from Walmart with the intention of having one tonight and saving the other 2 for someone or sometime else. But when I got home my eyes got bigger than my stomach and I was like "oh fuck it I'm gonna eat all 3 of them" So I load them all onto my plate, get comfortable with some Good Mythical Morning, eat a slice...

then I'm full.
So I put the other two back in the fridge.

Back before I started dieting, I would have kept eating even if I was full after only one. But I have learned that it is so so so important to listen to your body. Craving something but you know it's too high calorie? Eat just a little bit, and see if you're satisfied. You might realize that little bit was all you needed and stay in your deficit.

Almost at short term goal.

I never really cared about my weight, but I told myself if I ever reached 200 lbs I would HAVE to go on some sort of diet. Well, last June I realized I weighed 203 lbs. So I decided to change. I wanted to have a body I thought looked good. I set a long term goal of 145 because that's the average healthy weight for my type, and a short term goal of 170 just to give me something closer to work towards.

It took a while for me to find the right diet (I first tried fasting. That did not work at all for me haha) But I eventually learned to start counting my calories and get a good, sustainable, workout routine going. The process feels so slow but I know I'm on the right track, and im proud of having lost 30 lbs now. I'm at 172 lbs now. Its amazing to think I'm over halfway to my goal weight, and its even better to see the change this diet is having in other ways. I'm learning to listen to my body, to eat when I'm hungry and stop when im not.

Looking at this sub is so motivational, and ill be sure to ask for advice if I hit a rough patch again. Thanks!
