Salary: 800,000 Yen/Month

We are currently seeking a Data Center Cabling Engineer to support a global Enterprise Data Centers (EDC) organization delivering large-scale data center projects across Tokyo and Inzai, Japan.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in structured cabling, infrastructure coordination, and data center environments, who are looking to gain exposure to end-to-end project delivery and global enterprise operations.

 ✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate structured cabling design and implementation (fiber & copper)
  • Ensure alignment with global cabling standards and engineering guidelines
  • Support preparation of technical documentation, tenders, and scope definitions
  • Coordinate with internal teams (network, server, security) to gather requirements
  • Provide oversight for:
    • Cabling installation activities
    • Design and shop drawing reviews
    • Scheduling and logistics coordination
  • Support vendor coordination and performance tracking
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and handover activities
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation, patching records, and system updates
  • Support Move, Add, Change (MAC) activities across data center sites

 

✅ Technical Requirements

  • Experience with structured cabling in data center environments
  • Knowledge of:
    • Fiber & copper systems (e.g., OS2, OM4, Cat6A)
    • Interfaces: LC, MPO/MTP
    • High-density fiber solutions
  • Familiarity with:
    • Data center racks, cabinets, and patching systems
    • Cable testing standards (ISO/TIA)
    • Tools such as Fluke Cable Analyzer (DSX-5000/8000)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or technical design documentation

 

✅ Qualifications

  • Previous experience in:
    • Data center cabling engineering
    • Infrastructure deployment or technical project environments
  • Exposure to:
    • Project coordination / vendor management
    • Multi-site or enterprise deployments (preferred)
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (required)

 

✅ Preferred Qualifications

  • RCDD or equivalent cabling certification
  • Experience in mission-critical or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with:
    • Cisco / Arista infrastructure
    • Structured project delivery and reporting processes

 

📍 Additional Information

  • Role may require occasional support outside business hours based on project activities
  • Candidates must be based in Japan or authorized to work in Japan

* About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled M&E Engineering Support Specialist to join our Enterprise Data Center (EDC) Asia Project Team in Japan.

This role supports the operation, coordination, and oversight of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) infrastructure across multiple enterprise data center sites in the Tokyo and Inzai areas.

You will collaborate with internal technology teams, corporate services, and colocation providers to ensure the stability, resilience, and high availability of mission-critical data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

🔧 Operations & Incident Management

  • Coordinate and support M&E-related incident, event, and problem management
  • Ensure timely reporting, escalation, and communication of operational issues
  • Provide incident status updates and post-incident tracking
  • Review incident reports and support trend analysis and reporting

 ⚙️ M&E Infrastructure Oversight

  • Support environments with:
    • UPS systems
    • Generators
    • Cooling systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH)
    • Power distribution infrastructure
  • Assess and communicate operational impact and risks across multiple sites

 

🧩 Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with third-party service providers and colocation vendors
  • Monitor contractor activities, including:
    • Compliance with health & safety requirements
    • Performance against SLAs and KPIs
  • Review vendor documentation (risk assessments, work plans, permits)

 

📊 Change & Maintenance Support

  • Ensure M&E-related changes follow approved change management processes
  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of:
    • Routine maintenance
    • Ad-hoc maintenance activities
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to maintenance and operational activities

 

💼 Financial & Contract Support

  • Assist in M&E-related budget preparation
  • Review vendor invoices to ensure contractual and scope alignment

 

📈 Operational Reporting

  • Support monitoring of:
    • Energy consumption
    • Infrastructure utilization
  • Provide structured reporting to support operational decision-making

✅ Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience supporting data center environments or mission-critical facilities
  • Knowledge of M&E infrastructure, including:
    • Power (UPS, generators)
    • Cooling (HVAC systems)
    • Electrical distribution
  • Ability to coordinate within IT-enabled infrastructure environments
  • Strong communication skills in:
    • English (required)
    • Japanese (required – written and verbal)

  • Experience in data center or mission-critical environments
