Contractor advice

Before we start: yes I know, you get what you pay for and we should have hired contract professionals.

Hello beautiful people- I need some advice on how to handle some contractor issues…

My partner and I hired an under the table contractor that our realtor recommended to us to paint our living room and stair well (vaulted ceilings) and lay down new floors and baseboards.

I wanted to do it by hand but my partner was adamant that it would be faster and done quicker by someone else.

We were told it would take 3 days and it has been a week and a half so far…

When the work started there were a lot of people at the home and things seemed to be going smoothly… after the first day we saw that the paint job was not to par (they didn’t use primer, the coats were crackling, there were imperfections that were not fixed, lots of drips, lifted drywall tape painted over, AND THEY USED THE WRONG FINISH).

We spoke to the main guy and he said they would take care of if but as the days went on it didn’t seem to be getting any better. Now our home is in disaster and we have been sequestered to the upstairs until everything is finished.

They were in our home Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and haven’t been back since due to… scheduling issues?? Our staircase is ripped up, all of our furniture is put away and I feel like a dummy.

We have paid them 50% of the money up front and at this point I don’t know what to do…

I’m sad because I know I could have done a better job because I would have taken my time and because I care… it hurts when you use your hard earned money and it feels like you threw it into the fire.

These guys basically begged for the work and now it feels like I got taken advantage of.

Ultimately I would LOVE for them to finish and do it right but if they won’t/dont have the skill I have no desire to pay them another red cent.

They are supposed to come by tomorrow but I don’t want anything done until we have a heart to heart- how would you guys go about doing that?

Insurance to cover breast augmentation after lumpectomy

Good afternoon!

I am 30 and have been growing several non cancerous lumps for over a decade- some of them about 2x2 inches in size. Now that I’m older with money and insurance I would love to get them removed and was wondering if there is a way to sneak in a lift with that procedure?

I have suffered from intense cyclic breast swelling during my menstrual cycles until recently which has resulted in premature sagging and chafing- I’m also worried that when the lumps are removed there will be further sagging. Does anyone think I could wriggle in a breast lift while they take out my lumps and have it be covered by insurance?

Thank you for your advice 😊😊😊
