Grocery store flytrap repotting
As the title says, i bought this guy at the grocery store a few weeks ago. Since then, it’s grown significantly. I leave it by a window that gets direct sunlight for a good portion of the day, maybe from the morning till 4:00/5:00? I fill its ramekin with distilled water and let it soak it up, and only fill it when it gets dry. I had a few fruit flies, so maybe once or twice I would move the trap to the kitchen area at night to catch them and move it back to its sunny spot in the morning. It’s actually caught a decent amount of prey, and a few of the trap were closed by the morning time.
It’s very small, but it’s growing multiple new traps so i’m unsure if i should repot or leave it as . The third photo shows the pot i bought. It’s plastic and i plan on drilling some drainage holes on the bottom. I know it needs fertilizer free peat moss and perlite, which I got. But i’ve read that you’re not supposed to repot a flytrap till it comes out of dormancy and that it can get transplant shock. I really don’t want to kill or hurt it on accident, but it looks cramped and i don’t want to stunt its growth (if that’s a thing with flytraps). Any advice is appreciated so thank you :)
