The zverev agenda is genuinely grasping at straws right now and it’s hilarious

So now that Zverev has won his slam I’ve seen on twitter the hate comments are now comparing Zverev to Gaudio which I just can’t help but think is insane. The sentiment they seem to go with is that Zverev and Gaudio are the worst slam winners of all time, now Gaudio is definitely true but Zverev? Absolutely not. Now not to hate because I understand that these two are great players but we seem to forget about Del Potro and Cilic. What did they really do?? Delpo won a million 250s a couple 500s and a masters 1000 as well as the US Open outside of that there’s an Olympic silver, personally I think the Delpo hype is larp because he was just kinda there he would get his occasional big 3 win then lose to a random guy the following round he was really starting to hit his stride post us open but his wrist said no more. Delpo isn’t bad by any means but his career was definitely subpar for a slam winner. Cilic was also decent but way less efficient his tennis looked like 2025 Zverev it was hard to watch honestly he is kinda like Zverev but his best thing is his footwork rather than his backhand. He honestly had better results than Delpo but still for a slam winner that’s a subpar career. It’s like watching the gimmicky 250 demons suddenly win a slam and all of a sudden they are top 5 level for a year or 2 then they fall off hard. Delpo definitely deserves his flowers he played with long hair Rafa, adidas/sergio tacchini Nole, and Prime Fed. Yes Cilic had neo fed, GOATkovic, and 2 hair transplants later Rafa but honestly neo fed was the same as prime fed he just learned how to punish spin with no weight. All im saying is that people can’t say Zverev is one of the worst slam winners when Delpo, Cilic, Gaudio, and I hate to say it but Thiem are right there (thiem wouldn’t be anywhere near this convo if his wrist held up same for Delpo too)

Will RG make Zverev the best 90’s born player?

Honestly, when I have conversations with people about this topic, they typically point back to Thiem and Medvedev winning a slam now me personally Thiem is my favorite 90s player but I can’t deny with the others like Tsitsipas, Berrettini, Ruud, and Kyrgios(the other slam finalists) Zverev has better trophies and accolades than most of them like I said prior with Thiem and Medvedev winning slams and being multiple time slam finalists I want to know would Zverev 100% be recognized as the 90’s number 1 if he wins this the only argument I can see still being made against him being the best 90’s player if he wins RG is Medvedev becoming world number 1 but honestly yes Medvedev is insanely good but just as insanely inconsistent he can take sinner to 3 sets on clay then lose to Walton the next week Zverev is the most consistent player to never be world number one he’s been a top 5 player since early 2024 and he’s had pushes for number one prior to that I genuinely don’t see how Medvedev’s Covid number 1 stacks to Zverev’s pre injury dominance and post covid consistency
