Just a fan
Couple years back I started to dive into American made clothes. I wanted to thin out the closet of cheap clothes that were not quality. I discovered filson(not the thread for my thoughts on new filson products) and Dehen. Inevitable YouTube scrolling brought me to Carl Murawski and he was reviewing jackets and duffles and HeatStraps got a review. Prior to his collaboration. That’s when I started lurking. Trying to identify what I would purchase first. Fast forward I got the second version of the waxed anorak. Bruh… that thing is fire. Bought it a bit big so I can layer. It’s like putting on something bulletproof as a final layer. After that I joined this community and started watching for new drops. Next purchase was the insulated chief vest. It’s incredible. It’s so well made that it will just get better with age. Then I had a small issue. I was doing yard work and I spilled some gas on the vest. The issue was the vest smelled and the wife said…. Nope not in our closet. So we started to research how to get rid of the smell. I emailed the team at HeatStraps. After a few days I had not received a response and it fell off my radar. Then while driving with the family my phone rang in my truck. It was Tyler wanting to discuss my concerns and possible solutions. After the call I looked at my wife and was incredibly impressed that one of the owners of the company took the time to address the concerns of a customer. After that call I was a customer/fan for life. Since then I have gotten the lightweight Sashiko and all 3 lightweight linen work shirts. Which… I regretted not buying the plaid right away and missed out. Then yesterday I got an email saying it was back in stock. I went online immediately and it was gone… went back to my email and clicked on the link. It was there. I don’t know if they set one aside for me, but it felt that way. I called my wife and we discussed before purchasing. We agreed that it is worth the investment. I will be honest and say that these clothes represent a financial commitment. But they have never disappointed me in my investment. I am proud to support what they are doing.
Like I said in the title… I am just a fan.
