Electric truck/suv recommendations for Toddler and horse mom

Hello!

I‘m tentatively looking at trading in my yukon for an electric suv or truck and I would love to hear reviews from people who have used theirs to haul a horse trailer or similar weights. I have a 2 horse trailer that weights 3600 lbs empty and I usually only haul one horse at a time so that adds about 1400 lbs (I have drafts lol). My husband has a full size truck that I can borrow for longer trips but I would like an EV that can at least make it to a lesson and back, about 40 miles round trip up and down a pretty good size hill. I’d like something that either has a truck bed or a big frunk that I can throw a hay bale or some grain in.

It also needs to be functional for kids, all their stuff, and parking in urban areas. before my yukon i had a duramax sierra and it just wasn’t practical as a daily driver, but great for hauling hay or whatever I needed around the farm. The Yukon is great for kids and hauls the horse trailer well, but the fuel mileage isn’t as good as advertised, it’s slow and boring to drive, and I can’t put hay in the back without trashing the interior. I keep hoping I’ll warm up to it, but I just don’t like it!

I’ve been looking mostly at the sierra ev, hummer, and rivians. I’d like to get something used so I don’t need to take out a big loan. I’d love to hear the pros and cons of models that have both an SUV and a truck option, like the rivian or hummer. I’m leaning towards the sierra EV the most, the exterior isn’t my favorite but it ticks a lot of boxes and it looks like it has better range than the hummer. The hummer would be my dream car but I’m a little concerned about the range and whether its a practical vehicle to park in the city and get toddlers in and out of. test driving it had me smiling from ear to ear, it was so fun and definitely tickled that white trash part of my brain haha. Rivians are cool but I’m worried about the reliability and how they’d hold up to farm life. I’d consiter other EVs too, just not teslas. I’ve had them before so I know some of the limitations of electric cars and my house is already wired up for a fast charger to be installed.

Anyways!! Sorry about the essay lol I just don’t want to buy the wrong car again! I appreciate any input, especially from fellow parents and farm/horse people!
