Hi, Sorry if this isn't allowed, I wasn't sure what to post under

Basically, I am searching for my first teaching job. I have applied to several places and haven't heard back. I also had one interview a few weeks ago and have heard nothing after they said they would reach out. One of my friends said I should email the principals of schools after I apply. Should I be doing this?
