Falcon / Karearea in Tararuas
Beautiful kārearea flew past our group as we walked towards field hut in the Tararuas. It's probably the biggest bird I've seen in the Tararuas over 20 years. Also heard a lot of very vocal birdsong in the bush which is amazing to hear.
Is kārearea rare enough in the Tararuas that I should tell doc or someone?
