Trying to start learning CompTIA A+ and set up a basic Ubuntu VM on my MacBook Air using UTM, but I think I’ve messed something up.

I downloaded UTM + Ubuntu and created the VM, but when I boot it I just get stuck on a black screen saying “Start boot option” and nothing happens when I press Enter/click inside the VM.

Completely new to Linux/VMs so I’m probably missing something obvious. I’m mainly trying to get a basic practice environment running for A+ learning/helpdesk prep.

Does anyone know what I’ve likely done wrong or have a beginner-friendly setup guide for MacBook Air + UTM + Ubuntu?

Happy to post screenshots/specs if needed.
