hi! i’m an aspiring teen writer, and i’m working on a new story right now. i thought it would be cool if my main character was into skateboarding. problem is, i’m not a skater myself. despite 13 year old me’s efforts. (shame, i know.) but i was wondering about slang? like, i don’t wanna say my character skateboards and then not have her actually know anything about skateboarding, lol. i’ve done some research already. like i’ve learned what the deck is and what mall grabbing is and stuff. but i thought i’d go and ask the skaters themselves to see what they have to say. is there anything i should know? :)
