Anyone WAY OVERSHOOT their ferritin after infusions (now at 453)

9 weeks after my last infusion and my ferritin is now 453. Anyone else have their doc way overshoot what they need? How do you proceed if you do anything? We are planning to retest in 3-6 months, no other treatment, no supplements (obv).

2nd Infed infusion today (1000mg)—all ok thus far

Today was my second and final 1000mg Infed infusion. The first was two weeks ago and went fine, I hope I feel the same after today’s. What I am looking forward to is the lift of exhaustion, that hasn’t budged yet. After the first I was tired, had a night of complete insomnia but that fortunately didn’t last, it could have been the steroids they gave me that night? My brain was working super overtime, solving crossword puzzle clues I’d looked at two days before. I was flushed in the face but otherwise mostly ok. I will do followup labs in two months so see where my ferritin lands.

Pros/cons of the various infusions?

I’ve heard some ppl won’t take infusions because of side effects (infusion flu?). Are the side effects common? I’m first time visiting a hematologist this week, ferritin below 5. I’m expecting to discuss infusions and want to know pros and cons of the various types plus what to ask. I’ve been untreated, but complaining of extreme fatigue and hair loss for two+ years. I want to feel better and get back to living now. Thanks!
