Bandage check! Day 4 post op THR posterior

I’m 4 days post-op from a total hip replacement on my right side. I’m feeling really good and was able to shower yesterday for the first time since the surgery.

I’ve been taking my meds (as prescribed) and using ice packs fairly regularly. Minimal swelling. How does this look Reddit? Normal?

For the record I’ve had a lot of blood loss (20-25% hemoglobin during the surgery) but feeling stronger every day and trying to stay hydrated and eat plenty of iron rich foods.

Anyone else dealing with long waits in Canada?

I’m in BC and have been struggling with hip impingement pain for over a year. I finally got a CT scan and Xray that confirmed some abnormalities in my hip joint that point to degenerative changes (osteoarthritis) and some other issues. This was over a month ago.

I’ve been told I’ll be contacted by an orthopaedic surgeon and a sports doctor and was given a prescription for painkillers in the meantime.

Has anyone else had to deal with waiting for a specialist in BC? How long should I expect to wait? For reference I’m a 38 year old female who led a formerly active lifestyle pre-impingement. Feeling adrift and kind of depressed.
