What do I do with my brain dead male molly!
(Read all of this before commenting PLEASE) I got two mollies when I was new to the hobby. I thought both were female, I was wrong.
Somehow, at some point, my female recived a head injury. She is still living a amazing quality of life, but swims a little slow, and weird when stressed.
I seperated the male into a breeder box. The female appeared very anxious without friends, so I got two more females. With the 1 m to 3 f ratio, I put the male back in. But for gods sake, he doesn't even LOOK at the other two girls! All he does is chase around the original female all day.
This is in a planted 20 gallon long. I was going to maybe put him in a 20 gallon high with like, 2 more males, but I keep reading they'll just keep fighting for territory/etc. I do not have more tank room, and I'm unsure as of what to do.
And about fry, I usually let my fish from my 40 gallon eat them, so that isn't a concern. This is a blackwater tank, and isn't suitable for mollies.
I'd prefer not to give him away because I really love the little dude. I just wish he'd leave that female alone.
