On the bike path. Come to a bridge. 4 teens have two ebikes completely blocking the bridge. Two teens on each side of the bridge leaning against the fence. I ask them to move the bikes. They stare at me. Do nothing.

I choose the kid closest and tell him to move a fucking bike. Stares at me. Meanwhile, 2 of them move behind me. I tell them I'm about to knock their bikes over. No response.

I assume I'm getting my bike jacked. I unclip and dismount and push one of their bikes over and climb over it and take off.

Would I be within my rights to pepper spray them? And at what point in that interaction would be justified. I might start carrying some now. In California if that matters.
