Steroids and ABA
Yes, I know you are probably thinking that I’ve posted this on the wrong subreddit, but no, I’m looking for realistic advice/opinions on the matter. For background information, I’m a 20-year-old male instructor/para who works in a school that specializes in working with children ranging from 6-21 with autism/developmental disabilities. I’ve been in the field for about 2 years and have never had any difficulties with controlling my emotions during tense situations and will ask for assistance if I feel I’m heading in that direction. After visiting the doctor for bloodwork, I noticed my testosterone was considerably lower than the average
level, especially for my age range. I’m not embarrassed to admit that I plan on taking testosterone in hopes of improving my health and also in hopes of improving my physical fitness. But I’m worried that the influx of testosterone may affect my ability to function as calmly as I normally do. Has anyone here had to do something similar, whether it was generally hormone replacement therapy from going from F to M or having some hormonal imbalances naturally? I would hate to risk my composure weakening and don’t want to make a mistake by taking testosterone. It was difficult being this vulnerable but I would much rather stay the way I am now, then risk losing my composure during work. Thank you all and have a wonderful weekend!
