Looking for repair advice

I purchased a collection of costume jewelry and this ring was in the lot. It was very dirty, but I immediately knew it wasn’t costume. I could see that a few prongs needed repair. I carefully cleaned it and then I could see damage to one of the diamonds as well. I believe this ring is quite old. I know nothing about jewelry repair and I don’t have a trusted jeweler. I was hoping to contact a jeweler soon to look at the ring and get an idea of repair. I was hoping to gather any insight/advice. I don’t want to end up with a bad repair job. I know it’s hard to tell things based off photos but I‘m a bit intimidated to contact a jeweler about repair so having some idea what I might be getting into would help me feel more confident.

Almost 3” - feels kind of squishy and has metal tube coming out of it

This belonged to my now deceased uncle and my dad gave it to me but wasn’t sure what it was. The outside feels kind of like leather and it’s got a slight squish to it. The leather feeling stuff feels like it is a covering with something solid and the same shape beneath it, as I cannot bend this. There is a tube coming out of the end.
