I’ve been working on syncopated patterns like a simple beat but with triplets on the hi hat (think Sober by Tool). I also enjoy using ghost notes, and I’ve been adding them to said patterns. It really throws off my timing because I still have to think about it, but it sounds neat. Give it a try.
