Hello! I’m a detective in a medium metro area (300k). I’m 31 and have 7 years on with my current department. I’m a homicide detective currently and love my job. But, I keep getting the itch to go federal and move with the family. I recently saw the ATF was offering a 60k bonus for new recruits. Couple questions.

How is the ATF job? Given what I do now, do you think I’ll enjoy it?

Based on my experience, what pay level would I start at?

What are the common field offices provided to new recruits?
