RA friendly hobbies
I’m looking for positivity here, I know rheumatoid conditions and disabilities are extremely depressing but please comment positive experiences 🙏
I have rheumatoid arthritis that’s pretty severe and doesn’t respond well to medications. I’m under a fantastic hospital and receive great medical care and treatment but there’s only so much they can do.
I have complete fat pad atrophy in my right foot and almost complete fat pad atrophy in my left foot which means if I walk 5-10 minutes or am on my feet for 15 minutes continuously my feet burn like hellfire and sometimes symptoms last for days. My joints in my right knee, right hip, left shoulder, both hands and wrists, upper and lower spine are also pretty severely affected.
I used to love walking as a hobby as well as wild swimming. I also used to love arts and crafts which involved my hands. I like history and culture, I used to spend weekends going to museums, galleries and markets. And generally exploring new places. I don’t have a lot of disposable income so expense is a consideration.
I’m finding the loss of my hobbies due to inability to do them anymore really depressing. And I want to find some hobbies or activities I can regularly do that I will find fulfilling and enjoyable but keep drawing a blank.
So please share with me your hobbies and fulfilling activities to inspire me 🫶
